10 Roots

Re-Union

This is the Tap Root - Worship is not an end in and of itself. Worship is the threshold we pass over to encounter a re-union with God. We believe all people are created in God’s image, with the desire and capacity to worship and enjoy a real, vibrant, personal relationship with Him. The ultimate aim of worship is spirit-union with the Father through Christ.

Devotion

Christ desires no less than complete devotion to Him. To believe in and confess Jesus as Lord is an invitation for Him to inhabit the throne room of our hearts, and to rule over every aspect of our being.

Response

We are created to worship and God’s revelation of himself and His work is our invitation to respond to Him. God is the author, initiator and enabler of true worship.
Community

(common-union, koinonia):
God ministers to us as we worship Him, through our ministry to one another. Studying the triune nature of God helps us understand how we live in community. God is present through His Spirit in and around us as we worship. We participate in the life of Christ in community

Conversation

All of worship is prayer- and prayer in its simplest form is conversation. We engage with God, listening and responding to His work in us and among us through Spirit and Word.

Formation

Personal discipleship and corporate worship are deeply interconnected. We inspire, inform, and train disciples, modeling practices that contribute to our daily spiritual formation when we gather to worship.

Story

When we gather to worship, we enter into God’s story; enacting, proclaiming and celebrating His narrative, focusing specifically upon His saving work in Christ.

Transcendence

When we gather, we join with all heaven and earth to worship the One Who is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, holy; receiving grace and mercy that proceeds from His throne. Our worship exalts the one Who was and is and is to come. We join in worship with those who have gone before us.

Transcendent worship transforms.

Exaltation

To praise and offer thanks to the Lord is vital to the life of the worshipper. Praise is the worshippers pursuit, pleasure, priority, and passion.

Proclamation

Worship is a royal coronation, a joyful, holy procession, when we extol, crown, and enthrone Jesus, our now and future King. At the close of worship, we are sent out to participate in God’s ongoing Kingdom work. True worship is subversive-to declare Christ as King is to dethrone and declare that gods of this age are not. Lead worshippers need to learn how to discern and develop sensitivity to the unseen forces at work during worship.
